Zest AI’s week of service — how serving our communities in 2024 inspires our innovation
Community is at the heart of everything we Zestys do. From our mission to our company culture, we know that community — building and nurturing it — is a core value that adds so much to the lives of our employees, clients, and the world around us.
September is a month that has long-impacted the lives of those living all around the United States. While it’s a time to reflect, honor, and remember the heroes across our country, it’s also a time to get up and be the heroes ourselves. Everything counts. Doing regular, small acts of kindness, performing courageous feats of service, or finding a balance of good actions to take in between small and grand, all build our communities into better places to live and fill the hearts of those around us.
At Zest AI, our core values are Heart, Communication, Customer Centricity, Bias for Action, and Collaboration. Through our focus on these values, we’ve created a workplace culture that is filled with kind, generous, hopeful, and courageous people from across the U.S.
Our kindness guides our interactions with others.
Our generosity fuels our ability to think long-term and support our communities when they need it.
Our hopefulness demonstrates how the power of positive change can elevate a workplace, an industry, and a country.
Our courage determines our path forward to building a more equitable world through our work.
This year, we took these attributes out into the communities that we Zestys live, work, and grow in to do good work and build a better future for ourselves, our loved ones, and those who live around us. For the first time, Zest AI’s week of service was sponsored under our Zest Cares initiative. I’d love to share some of the insights and experiences from some of our Zestys!
Zest MA – Germantown Neighborhood Center Food Pantry
“I was raised to appreciate what I have and to contribute to and assist those who are less fortunate. My parents both gave more than they got — my mother was a detox and visiting nurse; my father provided employment services, including to the incarcerated. The causes that most appeal to me address food insecurity, the unhoused, combatting structural gender and race-based inequity, and veteran welfare. Zest AI’s impactful, societal mission is why I wanted to work here, and remains part of the reason I love it here! Having the chance to organize giving back opportunities for my fellow Zestys in which they contribute to our local communities is a special and unique experience for which I’m very grateful.”
Don Murphy, Sales Enablement and Recruiting
Zest NM – St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Guadalupe of Peña Blanca Food Pantry
“On the first day of a high school job, my boss said, ‘We are put on this Earth to serve one another, and when we serve others, we do work that matters.’ I’ll never forget that — it’s why I volunteer. I live in a remote, food desert community. Around 27 percent of the households live below the poverty line. I was so grateful for the time to be able to volunteer to help run the local food bank through the St Vincent de Paul Society and our local parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.”
Denise Wymore, Zest Cares Programming
Zest TX – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas
“When we take ourselves out of the picture and allow time to focus on serving others, I often find that I can start to see the world a little more clearly. There’s a lot of heart and hope to be found when you’re helping others. I’m grateful we put an emphasis on doing good in the community around us here at Zest AI.”
